The Pocket Pry Bar — Gen 1

$24.99

Every great tool starts somewhere. This is where the BCB pry bar started.

The Pocket Pry Bar Gen 1 is the tool that started everything. The first iteration. The one built before Gen 2 existed, before Gen 3 was even a sketch, before thousands of carry hours and real-world feedback refined the design into what it is today. This is the beginning of that story.

Eight of the original run remain. No restock planned. Ever.

What Gen 1 taught me was simple and humbling — holding a 1/4" hex bit hands-free during use wasn't solved yet. That single limitation sent me back to the bench. Gen 2 improved it. Gen 3 dialed it in completely. But none of that happens without Gen 1 going out into the world first and proving what needed to change.

That's how good tools get built. Not in one sitting. In iterations.

What it does:

The hand-ground flat head slot handles everyday tasks — minor repairs, opening packages, scraping dried glue — with the kind of precision you'd expect from a tool made in a one-man shop. The 1/4" hex hole accepts the included #2 Phillips bit, held securely by two O-rings so it doesn't rattle loose in your pocket. Approximately 9 inches of American-made paracord adds portability and keeps it accessible when you need it.

Built from 304 stainless steel — durable, corrosion resistant, and honest about its limits. This is an everyday carry tool built for everyday tasks. Treat it accordingly and it will outlast most things in your pocket.

A note from the maker: Gen 1 doesn't hold the bit hands-free during use the way Gen 3 does. That's not a defect — it's the reason Gen 3 exists. If you want the fully evolved version check out The Pocket Pry Bar Gen 3. If you want the original — the one that started it all — this is it.
